ABOUT THE QUICK CENTER
The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts of Fairfield University serves as a hub of cultural activity offering exceptional performing arts and entertainment programming annually, including our Open VISIONS Forum lecture series, classical, jazz, and world music concerts, dance and theatre performances, circus, family programming, and The Met: Live in HD and National Theatre of London broadcasts. In addition, the Quick is home to a number of University programs and events in support of student engagement and learning, as well as a community hub for rental programs.
The Quick welcomes over 40,000 patrons through our doors annually and serves a broad range of audiences including the University's students and faculty and our regional audience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Works closely with the Center for Arts & Minds and the Fairfield University Integrative Marketing Manager (IMM) to ensure Quick Center messaging, branding, and partnerships align with Fairfield University mission and communication, making Fairfield University a destination for arts and culture.
Works with the Center for Arts & Minds Assistant Director to coordinate social media coverage of Quick Center for the Arts and Center for Arts & Minds events.
Supervises two interns to engage with student and community audiences, and two social media-focused federal work study students, in partnership with the Center for Arts & Minds.
Collaborates with the Director of Programming and Operations, and additional Quick staff, to create a strategic plan for engaging audiences both from the campus community and the broader Fairfield County community to encourage diverse and inclusive engagement for all.
Collaborates with the Director of Programming and Operations to strengthen and support campus partnerships with the Arts Institute, Visual & Performing Arts programs, and faculty, ensuring arts and culture are part of curricular focus and access for all students. This includes building faculty partnerships and opportunities to deepen student impact.
Reviews the season and plans student and faculty engagement experiences that offer more context about the relevance of Quick Center programs through themes and topics. Engagements can include having the artist/speaker come and speak with classes, panel discussions, workshops, social experiences, shared activities with campus arts ensembles and partners, etc.
Coordinates all audience communication including, but not limited to: email communications including content, image selection, editing, and entering content into Wrike (University project management system); print pieces working with University designers including content, image selection, editing; and website edits with University designers; press release content working with IMM; and social media content.
Encourages inclusivity and understanding of the diverse needs of the Quick Center community and brings audience concerns and needs to leadership to ensure thoughtful consideration and timely updates
Qualifications and Necessary Skills:
An effective Student Arts Engagement Coordinator is creative, well-organized, confident, team-oriented, and comfortable managing and using communication technologies. Competitive candidates will have knowledge of and passion for a broad range of performing arts; superior written and oral communication skills; experience with budget management; and an exceptional ability to foster relationships with students, artists, student organizations, academic units, and partner organizations. Fairfield University and the Quick Center for the Arts aim to be a destination for the arts. In alignment with this goal, the Student Arts Engagement Coordinator will share an eagerness to engage Fairfield University students, staff, and faculty to attend programs and foster a sense of community that expands to the broader Fairfield County audience. In addition, the Student Arts Engagement Coordinator should be interested in maintaining strong relationships with past supporters and attendees, while also helping to engage new audiences.
