The Reno Chamber Orchestra (RCO) Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for all RCO and Nevada Chamber Music Festival (NCMF) marketing and communications. This role reports to the Executive Director and is responsive to the RCO Music Director, NCMF Artistic Director and RCO Director of Administration.

Primary Duties:

• Facilitate RCO print, radio, and TV ads
• Maintain the RCO website
• Drive RCO social media engagement
• Write and manage RCO email blasts and direct mail campaigns
• Create graphics for RCO and NCMF events
• Coordinate design and printing of all RCO and NCMF concert programs
• Coordinate all marketing trades
• Develop annual marketing plan in line with strategic goals
• Write and coordinate press releases
• Act as primary contact for all marketing communications
• Edit and upload RCO videos
• Coordinate RCO volunteers in partnership with RCO Volunteer Coordinator
• In collaboration with Executive Director and Director of Administration, determine new season launch timetable
• In collaboration with Executive Director and Director of Administration, determine season ticket pricing
• Support development activities including annual fundraising event
• Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills:

• A combination of education and experience in marketing and communications/public relations
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
• Database experience
• Ability to work closely with a variety of staff and volunteers
• Comfortable interacting with board of directors and donors
• Strong attention to detail
• Willingness to learn new skills
• Experience working within in a non-profit setting a plus
• Background in arts/music preferred but not required

Estimated Hours and Working Conditions:

• This is a full-time salaried position with health benefits and 160 hours paid time off (PTO). Evening and weekend hours are required during performance and event weeks.
• Compensation $43,000 annually + company paid health insurance and 403b retirement plan.
• Working conditions are routine for an office environment with offsite work at performance venues

About Reno Chamber Orchestra

The Reno Chamber Orchestra was established in 1974 as a collaboration between founding Music Director and Conductor Vahe Khochayan and a group of musician colleagues playing in casino showroom orchestras. The first performance was held on December 15, 1974 at The Reno Musician's Union hall. ?Across the landscape of 50 memorable seasons, the Reno Chamber Orchestra has flourished, now boasting 6 regular season concert sets each year, a renowned chamber music festival, community partnerships that build pathways for access to classical music for all, and starting in 2024, a re-imagined concerto competition named for our founding conductor, Vahe Khochayan. ?The RCO and NCMF have hosted thousands of musicians in our illustrious history, and are noted for welcoming world renowned musicians and celebrities too numerous to name, some favorites include: Leonard Nimoy, Itzhak Perlman, Toni Tennille, Noah Bendix-Balgley and Robert Levin. ?In July of 2021 the Reno Chamber Orchestra welcomed it's third Music Director, Kelly Kuo. The first dedicated NCMF Artistic Director, Clive Greensmith, began leading the festival in January 2019.
