The Communications Specialist creates, plans and coordinates the Association’s communications, thru all media channels. Typical tasks will include designing digital and print materials, maintaining/building web pages and event apps, and assisting with digital marketing strategy. This position also includes other administrative duties as assigned by the Executive Vice President.

Essential Duties:
•    Coordinates the development and implementation of Association’s communications and marketing plans, including social media and display advertising
•    Designs brochures, announcements, educational event programs, promotional and collateral pieces
•    Responsible for writing, design and production of Association bi-monthly newsletter
•    Distributes legislative and regulatory updates
•    Develops and updates content on Association website
•    Responsible for preparation, content and onsite management of conference apps at educational events
•    Responsible for PowerPoint slide deck preparation and A/V onsite support at educational events
•    In-house contact for designers, printers, software, applications and mailing firms
•    Maintains email schedule/log and mailing distribution records
•    Responsible for maintenance of office print materials including stationery stock, business cards, etc

Administrative:
•    Serve as staff liaison for relevant committees, programs, and taskforces
•    Assists with education events, membership development and membership services
•    Assists with answering phones, filing, duplication, updating database, and office maintenance

Qualifications & Skill Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree, or five years equivalent non-profit association industry experience
• Excellent writing and verbal communications skills
• Excellent proofreading and editing skills, with strong attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite required
• Experience in Dreamweaver or other website development/maintenance software required
• Experience required with content production on LinkedIn, Facebook, and other social media outlets
• Experience with email marketing software preferred
• Experience with iMIS or similar data management systems preferred
• A strong work ethic with a customer-oriented demeanor and a strong sense of ownership and follow through
• Experience working in a collaborative small-team environment
