The Florida Engineering Society (FES) is a statewide association for Professional Engineers. FES is in Tallahassee, Florida and serves the needs of over 2,500 members and 330 firms.

We are looking for an eager, talented, and passionate communications professional to help our association continue to grow and promote the Engineering profession in Florida. The Communications Coordinator will work directly with the Director of Marketing & Communications and the Chief Operating Officer. This entry-level position is ideal for someone with a Communications, Marketing, or Business background or degree.

Desired Skills & Experience:

Optimistic attitude and personality, which carries over through email and phone conversations. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Strong customer service skills with sales experience. Attention to detail, especially in writing and editing. Ability to multi-task. Strong organizational skills. Ability to learn new technologies and software proficiently. Experience with graphic design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva is preferred but not required.

Summary of Job Requirements & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for coordinating and tracking ad sales for Engineering Florida, the FES Directory, the ACEC Florida Directory, monthly newsletters, and annual website sponsorships, including selling ads, developing and coordinating marketing strategies, outreach efforts, and promotional campaigns with the Director of Marketing and Communications to attract and retain advertisers.
• Assists the Director of Marketing & Communications with quarterly production of Engineering Florida, including but not limited to gathering content, editing, proofing, and maintaining records for the publication, including invoicing and reporting.
• Partners with the Director of Marketing & Communications to design, edit, and publish the FES Annual Directory and ACEC Florida Annual Directory.
• Gathers and formats RFP/RFQ content for the weekly digital posting of the ACEC Florida Register.
• Manages classified ads and works to promote and further develop ad visibility.
• Works with third-party vendors to assist members with purchasing PE Seals.
• Responsible for ordering, invoicing, and maintaining inventory of all branded promotional products.
• Assists in maintaining and updating website content to ensure accuracy and relevance.
• Provides excellent customer service to members and potential members via phone, email, virtual meetings, and in-person interactions.
