Comarco is looking to hire an experienced project manager and/or estimator. The Sales and Estimating team is accountable for building and maintaining business relationships with architects, devlopers, end users, and general contractors in order to estimate and sell projects. Sales and Estimating analyzes potential projects to determine material and cost requirements to ensure design and functionality integrity are maintained. Once the project is secured, the job is assigned to the Project Manager who is accountable for ensuring the project material meets the construction schedule of the customer, procuring all materials, processing change orders, scheduling delivery/installation, bringing the project in on or under budget, and providing exceptional customer service.
Project Manager Duties:
Provide excellent customer service to build relationships with customers, vendors, and team members
Manage all aspects of construction projects as related to doors, frames, hardware.
Review all relevant project documents, including architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, and correspondence from the Architect and General Contractor to ensure accurate shop drawings are completed.
Process RFIs, Change Orders, etc for each project as required
Occasionally field measure openings and coordinate with installers for required material/labor
Produce fabrication reports and purchase orders for material once approved. Ensure material meet the project schedule requirements.
Schedule material deliveries and/or installs and invoice customers in timely manner.
Manage multiple projects in different phases of the construction process
Responsible for analyzing, strategizing, and composing complete and accurate estimates for projects.
Soliciting quotes from manufacturer partners for the most competitive pricing
Creativity and thinking outside the box to gain a competitive advantage is a necessity while still meeting the issued plans and specifications for the project.
Diligent follow ups to secure new projects and build relationships with customers
This position also can cross into project detailing, which involves more technical scheduling of doors, frames, and hardware to prepare a submittal for architect review.
Door and Hardware Industry and/or Construction Background Preferred; DHI Training and Certifications a Major Plus
Mechanically and Technically Inclined, Detail Oriented
Strong Computer Skills with Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook, Comsense Software Knowledge a Major Plus
Excellent Time Management and Organizational Skills
Outstanding Interpersonal, Communication, and Emotional Intelligence Skills
Construction Management or Door/Security Background is a Major Plus
Experience Conducting Take-Offs or Using Estimating Software a Plus
