Main Function

The role is responsible for monitoring and curating content for IHA’s digital assets, including websites and social media platforms. In addition, this role will contribute as a writer, editor, and proofreader for IHA’s various digital and print communication vehicles, including IHA’s for-profit business subsidiaries, member education, quality improvement initiatives, and the Illinois Poison Center.

Outline of Responsibilities

• Draft and uploads content for digital platforms, including but not limited to the IHA websites, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
• Create and post updated content to IHA’s digital platforms with the intent of driving engagement.
• Write and edit a wide variety of digital and print communications, including, but not limited to, various IHA publications; promotional materials; websites; social media; and educational brochures and flyers.
• Work collaboratively with members of the Corporate Communications and Marketing Department, along with colleagues from across the Association, to assist in the development and implementation of promotional/marketing campaigns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in communications, journalism, advertising, marketing or related field or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to fulfill the duties of the position. A minimum of three years digital content management experience with a command of content management best practices, required. Familiarity with HTML, Google analytics, marketing automation, search engine optimization, and user design experience, preferred. Versatile writer with the ability to write social media content and web copy, press releases, news stories, as well as digital ad copy and brochure copy. The ideal candidate will have professional experience in healthcare, hospitals, associations, government relations or the news media. Natural ability to work collaboratively, with strong interpersonal skills. Experience meeting tight deadlines, and demonstrated ability to work well under pressure.
