Key Account Sales Representative

Greenleaf Nursery Company is looking for a qualified Key Account Sales Representative to help manage and grow business with multi-location key and national accounts from our Texas based Nursery.  This position is based out of our El Campo, TX nursery and will require travel approximately 10% of the time.  This individual will be responsible for creating, presenting and executing large order programs to both existing and new accounts in conjunction with our existing Key Account Team.  The ideal candidate will have experience in the horticultural industry or have a sales background with some plant knowledge.  As well, they will be energetic, motivated, and goal driven with excellent communication skills.  This position will be challenging but rewarding with a portion of the compensation being commission based.  Our goal is to foster long term business relationships with some of our largest volume customers while always looking for new opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Be the main point of contact for specifically assigned accounts maintaining up to date pricing, freight, and contact information.
• Negotiate and execute seasonal order programs along with providing weekly product availability for reorders
• Maintain working knowledge of all available plants and their quality status along with future crop availability. 
• Follow up on orders and programs regularly for concerns and repeat business
• Communicate shipments, crop timing, and customer expectations to other departments within Greenleaf Nursery Company.  Also check orders prior to shipping to ensure quality and meet customer expectations
• Respond promptly to customer complaints and new prospective business
• Send weekly reports on sales activity, future sales, account status and potential issues
• Present product knowledge and new product information to customers on a yearly basis
• Travel to see accounts, other nursery locations and attend relevant industry events or sales meetings

Skill Requirements

• Experience as an Account Representative or other sales or customer service-related role
• Knowledge of horticulture or a love for plants
• Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically with Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word.  Also, a working knowledge of how to utilize PDF files
• Strong professional communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent organization, follow up and multi-tasking skills
• Goal driven with the ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines
• Be able to work as a team and also be self-motivated
• Must be detail oriented
• High School Diploma and Undergraduate College Degree preferred
