While the Foundation has been in existence for some time, the organization recently established its new consumer focused strategy and programmatic agenda as a key part of organization transformation efforts within the AHIMA enterprise which constitutes a 501(c) (6) parent organization and its wholly owned 501(c) (3), the AHIMA Foundation.
The Manager of Direct Marketing will be part of a new Foundation team. This is an opportunity for someone who relishes the chance to build a direct marketing program from scratch and enjoys the challenge of working in a start-up environment. This position is suited for someone who is comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity typical in start-ups and is committed to doing what it takes to build a successful direct marketing program and development operation, working closely with development and program staff.
The Manager of Direct Marketing will be responsible for the digital (online and mobile) and direct mail fundraising programs at AHIMA Foundation. Reporting to the Development Director, the Manager will develop and implement multi-year strategies to grow the donor base and net revenue to achieve maximum results.
Working with the development director, provide vision, leadership, and strategy for sustainable growth across the digital and direct mail spectrum, including implementing effective messaging and appeal strategies, as well as strategic data analysis.
Collaborate with any fundraising consultants, Foundation and AHIMA 501(c)(6) staff, in the planning, development, execution, expansion, and evaluation of all integrated direct marketing campaigns.
Build and Integrate all messaging/communications across direct response platforms (direct mail, online, mobile), coordinating closely with Marketing & Communications and other departmentsas appropriate.
Establish and manage multiple vendor relationships (BoodleAI, WealthEngine, etc.) to maximize present and lapsed donors’ income potential, evaluate future acquisition strategies, and upgrade programs.
Utilize leading-edge data analytics and predictive modeling techniques to increase the Foundation’s donor base and net revenue, and work toward greater vertical integration with the donor pipeline.
Collaborate with Development Director on donor pipeline development and provide a holistic, strategic donor experience at the AHIMA Foundation.
Implement new internal and external programs to increase efficiency, maximize donor stewardship, and leverage database management.
Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports on all campaign activity and the progress to goals (i.e., direct mail, gift societies, etc.).
Manage department budget and track all invoices/expenses, including payments to vendors.
Minimum of five years of digital fundraising experience, direct mail, and database management.
A proven track record for growing fundraising programs.
Experience and expertise in developing and implementing cohesive, innovative, aggressive, and integrated direct response strategies that have resulted in measurable and significant growth in net revenue and donor base.
Demonstrated success writing strategic appeal campaigns that communicate the case for support to individuals of various backgrounds.
Knowledge of Blackbaud and RazorsEdge preferred

Able to successfully manage multiple processes simultaneously without close supervision.

Demonstrated success maintaining an enterprise-wide perspective and utilizing strong analytical skills to maximize ROI.
Strong affinity for consumer-focused programming and health care with the ability to serve as a compelling ambassador for the AHIMA Foundation.
A deep, broad knowledge of industry best practices, standard operating procedures, and new approaches to digital fundraising and direct mail programs, system integration, and organizational efficiency.
Exceptional organization, analytical, strategic planning, and research skills.
Creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit; someone who is willing to try new ideas and think “outside the box,” and will motivate the team to do the same.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining disciplined adherence to program goals. Must work well under pressure.
