Hope Haven - a private non-profit organization dedicated to serving individuals with disabilities in southeast Iowa – seeks a visionary, entrepreneurial, and mission-driven Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who can build upon the organization’s significant record of accomplishments. Hope Haven provides vocational, residential, community living, employment, and crisis services for mentally and physically challenged individuals, and is headquartered in Burlington, IA. Hope Haven is a renowned provider of exceptional services and sets the standard for support to persons with disabilities. The CEO will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organization in accordance with the values of Hope Haven. Hope Haven has experienced many years of success and growth. Since its inception, Hope Haven has expanded its reach across four counties of southeast Iowa and continuously develops new and relevant services and programming to meet the needs of its community and its clients.
Hope Haven was recently named a “Southeast Iowa 2020 Best Place to Work”, a well-deserved honor and a true testament to its passionate, committed, and highly skilled team. Hope Haven serves nearly 500 individuals across the organization, many utilizing multiple programs and services, including over 150 clients living in Hope Haven’s homes and residential facilities. Hope Haven’s FY2020 budget was over $12 million, and it employs approximately 320 staff, including a leadership team of six, and is governed by an 11-member Board of Directors. Hope Haven is fiscally sound and is in an advantageous financial position due to its supporting organization, the Hope Haven Development Center Foundation.
The next leader will bring a demonstrated commitment to the mission of Hope Haven, a record of programmatic vision and business savvy, and will have proven experience leading an organization or unit of similar complexity. The next CEO will ensure the continued quality of Hope Haven’s direct services, innovate and expand when opportunities arise, maintain the organization’s financial wellbeing, anticipate and prepare for evolution in the regulatory environments, and ensure sound administrative structure. The successful candidate will have extensive experience with external relations, including forming and maintaining strategic partnerships, liaising with government agencies, promoting resource development, and representing an organization as its public face. Demonstrated success in working effectively with a board, building and sustaining employee engagement, participatory decision-making, and staff development is essential.
