The Marketing Department supports and broadcasts the alliance’s mission to its audience and is the marketing agency for the organization, understanding organization and project needs and addressing those needs through strategic marketing plans and related actions. The Manager, Marketing is a self-starter who is focused on delivering results. They serve as a key member of project teams to develop and execute successful marketing campaigns, working in close collaboration with team members across various functional areas of the organization. They understand marketing strategies, message development, digital marketing platforms, and have project and team management experience. They are well versed in all modern marketing channels, creating marketing plans, and demonstrate creativity and critical strategic thinking. They provide SEPA’s leadership with sound advice and solutions to strategic opportunities and challenges. They manage the marketing team and are directly responsible for achieving the goals of the marketing department.
Responsibilities and Key Impact Areas
Works with the Director, Marketing and Communications in the development of holistic marketing plans, strategies, and associated messages to achieve SEPA organization, event (in-person and virtual), and product goals, as well as executing associated go-to-market plans that include web-based and digital outbound campaigns and related content.
Responsible for audience acquisition for SEPA target audiences, including development and execution of acquisition campaigns and programs.
Assessments of marketing results using digital analytics, and the development of corresponding proposals to improve outcomes
Responsible for working creatively with SEPA teams to develop, write, proof, edit, and publicize print and digital content, including emails and marketing copy.
Development of supporting budgets and resource plans, including integration of inter-departmental collaboration.
Effective department use and maintaining the vitality of critical digital assets including email delivery service, website, and supporting toolsets (e.g., Pardot, Infogram, Prezi, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Web, and Advertising Suite, etc.)
Development, management, and implementation of SEPA brand standards, including look and feel, usage, language consistency, and design and implementation of new brand assets
Oversees external vendor/contractor management and delivery
Management of the marketing team, as part of, and in coordination with cross-functional teams, including task prioritization, agenda setting, and resource management and planning.
Oversees marketing project management, including status reports to upper management.
Other tasks as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or business administration, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing or communications role
Project management experience, including management of external vendors
3+ years experience in management of website, email marketing (certifications a plus), and content management platforms
2+ years experience in supervisory roles
