Serve as staff lead and project manager on all SEMA recognition programs and SEMA Cares. Manager also serves as the liaison to volunteer task forces and/or groups engaged in each.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
Serve as project manager for SEMA Awards Programs each year (i.e., Hall of Fame and WD, Person, Gen-III Innovator and Manufacturer of the Year) and all Council and Network annual awards programs. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ensuring adherence to annual timelines, goals and outcomes of the award programs.
Developing the annual award applications and launch the nominations process.
Working with volunteer leadership to identify and recruit members for each task force.
Working with each task force chair to facilitate virtual and in-person meetings.
Facilitating the judging process while ensuring confidentiality as well task force member anonymity.
Coordinating procurement of awards and delivery at the recognition event.
Ensuring that each winner is accurately and appropriately recognized by SEMA.
Serving as lead contact for questions by nominees and award winners.
Manage the association’s annual volunteer leadership nominations and elections process for both the Board and the Councils and Networks. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Managing all agreed upon timelines for the annual projects.
Working alongside Nominations Committee Chairs as well as staff.
Ensuring confidentiality throughout the process.
Delivering results in a timely fashion to all key stakeholders.
Manage the annual SEMA Scholarship and Loan Forgiveness programs which includes but is not limited to:
Coordinating the annual project timelines.
Working with the Student Programs Committee staff liaison to ensure alignment with annual goals of the group.
Partnering with scholarship vendor to ensure alignment in processes and goals.
Facilitating the judging and award process.
Serve as the manager and staff liaison for the SEMA Cares Committee. This includes but is not limited to:
Working with the SEMA Cares Chair to facilitate regular virtual and in-person meetings of the committee.
Serving as project manager for all committee-related programming.
Initiating and update all SEMA Cares related SOPs and policies.
Coordinating payments, including association matching funds, to all official SEMA Cares charities immediately following receipt of donations.
Assisting with recognition of key contributing volunteers annually.
Provide guidance to the association on volunteer recognition and appreciation throughout the year.
Be an expert in all SEMA member benefits programs and services.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Reports to VP, Councils & Membership.
Interacts with staff in all departments.
Interacts with SEMA members and prospective members.
PRIMARY SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
Team player who is willing to embrace new ideas and demonstrate an ability to change and grow as required by the position.
Travel requirements up to 10%.
Marketing and membership experience in an association environment.
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and association management software. Willingness to learn new software programs.
Strong knowledge of event planning, project management and multi-tasking.
Skilled communicator with strong organizational abilities.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
