North America Regional Director and General Manager- IDEXX Water
IDEXX Water is the global leader in water microbiology, providing tests that ensure the safety of drinking water and other water supplies for over two billion people in 100 countries around the world.
In this Role:
You will be leading our commercial organization on the development and execution of a strategy for the North America Region Water line of business that will ensure consistent and predictable revenue delivery while driving growth in our market(s).
Through collaboration with Product Management, Global Market Development and Commercial Operations you will ensure strategic alignment with the broader company strategy.
You will lead a team of sales and marketing professionals responsible for creating market access and market realization for our Water product portfolio.
You will oversee commercial execution (both sales and marketing) tactics to achieve line of business objectives by monitoring new products and competitors that could potentially disrupt our business.
You will maintain knowledge (including relevant regulations and requirements) of changes and developments within the industry that could impact overall market dynamics.
Participate personally in meeting and build strong rapport with strategic customers and key opinion leaders in our relevant markets and industry.
Build and develop talent and drive employee engagement for the North America commercial organization
Ensure budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements. Have overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods as well as delivering financial results.
What you need to Succeed:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. MBA or advanced Business education preferred.
Ten plus years of commercial management and leadership experience in life science, diagnostics, or medical device industries, including global strategy and management and a broad understanding of multiple marketing and government affairs functions.
Business Insight: Ability to apply knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organizations goals.
Strategic Mindset: See ahead to future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies. Effectively integrate long-term opportunities and challenges with day to day activities.
Situational adaptability: Adapt your approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations.
Builds Networks: Effectively build formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside the organization. Leverage your networks to remain aware of industry developments and widen your own sphere of influence.
Builds effective teams: Build strong-identity teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve organizational goals. Champion the decisions of the team and operates in a way that builds team spirit.
Corporate account management and contract negotiation experience.
Ability to work flexible hours as needed and travel 25% plus to visit customers and key professional conferences.
Preferred location in Westbrook Maine. If located elsewhere in US, may require frequent travel to Maine.
