Position Summary The Retail Channel Manager position is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing leading market strategies and initiatives aimed at maximizing Oatey’s penetration and engagement in the retail channel. This position will support the growing needs of the customer and coordinate all internal efforts necessary to sustain growth.
Develop marketing strategies by specific customer that support our strategic initiatives
Responsible for the development, design and marketing that meet the needs of the specific customer and Oatey requirements
Develop marketing plans by customer to support the sales managers goals and objectives
Establish and maintain on – going relationships with customer accounts and work directly with their marketing counterparts to implement marketing plans that meet the customers and Oatey’s needs.
Work with internal branding team to create in store displays, promotions and packaging that ensure Oatey’s brand presence, product “how to” and generate sales
Partner and maintain on – going communication and relationship with Oatey Sales Team to ensure sales plan is met
Stay current with specific customer trends, as it relates to buying behaviors in order to develop and implement relevant marketing programs that will grow the Oatey brand and business
Development of customer marketing tool kits and presentations for line reviews, sales meetings, customer initiatives and product launches
Develop (along with Sales Team) customer specific plans to drive sales
Be aware of product & category market share, competitive landscapes & retail environments
Manage business, along with Sales Team for highest profitability
Communicate business and pricing strategy with managing product from “cradle to grave”
Work with Sales Analyst to determine how to change the categories, products, planograms, etc.
Help drive new product development initiatives for specific customers while visiting stores or working with regional field merchants and/or reps
Work with rep network to grow customer specific sales
Responsible for driving retail integration with key retail customers by utilizing all forms of retail marketing - Displays, promotions, Point of Purchase and Customer Website Promo’s
Use of planogram software (minimize outsourcing) based on customer requirements
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in Channel Management and/or Home Improvement industry or related experience
Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work well independently and in a team environment, and interact with individuals at all levels in the organization
Proven ability to define a channel strategy, then lead implementation and execution of tactics to achieve stated results
Capacity to excel in a fast-paced, multifaceted, team environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Education and Certification
Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field preferred
