Responsibilities will include: • Develop new relationships and maintain existing relationship with Institutional Investors in the US with special focus to the west region and west south-central states. • Focus on Institutional Money Managers such as Fund-of-Funds and Family Offices, Endowments, Pensions, Insurance Companies. • Strong focus on growing institutional alternatives consultant outreach (currently rated by top global hedge fund consultant – Albourne - but looking to work with others) • Attention on Foundations, in the capacity of building/expanding the relationship and raising capital for the Kawa Fund as well as Kawa’s niche funds and co-investments. • Establish and grow relationships with Institutional Consultants, Advisors, Databases. • Plan and attend industry events (virtual for now and eventually resuming in person events) such as conferences, roadshows, networking events, etc. to maximize the firm’s exposure and public outreach. • Marketing, Sales, Investor Relations, Business Development • Other tasks include DDQs, RFPs, CRM, IDD and ODD.
Distinguishing Characteristics: The candidate should be self-directed and self-motivated, very well-organized, curious, and passionate about investment management. Being a team player and working within the Kawa culture is highly important. The candidate should also have strong written and oral communication abilities, good interpersonal skills, demonstrated integrity and good judgement, the ability to foster long term, productive working relationships, and be comfortable working independently (with appropriate supervision) in an evolving, fast-paced, organizational culture. A technical knowledge of credit, structured credit/ABS, bond markets and/or real estate is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration • MBA or Master’s degree is a plus • Certification 65 or 3 obtained, or to be obtained • CAIA or CFA is a plus • 5-7 years of total work experience at Capital Markets or Financial Markets. • English as a first language or highly proficient in English.
Desired Qualifications: Pre-established record of working with large financial Institutions, preferably on the buy side, emphasis on alternative investments. Working knowledge of complex financial instruments such as swaps, derivatives, options, series 3 and 65 or equivalent. Pre-established relationships within the financial institutions community a plus. Ability to present and complete comprehensive DDQ (Due diligence questionaries’).
