Program Manager

The Heart Failure Society of America is seeking a detail-oriented manager to assist in the planning, execution, implementation, and administration of marketing/communications and business development projects. The Program Manager will be responsible for supporting HFSA programs to maximize prospect/donor engagement, achieve results and drive engagement across marketing channels, and similar duties. The person hired for this role will work closely with the Director of Development and the Director of Marketing and Communications. An ability to manage multiple priorities adhere to strict deadlines, and nimbly transition between projects are requirements for the person in this role.

Key programs include:

• Heart Failure Awareness 365 Initiative, which is a communications-focused program targeting patients, caregivers, and the general public. The program includes both Heart Failure Awareness Week (annually in February) and the monthly campaigns with content developed around a theme and distributed via a podcast episode, social media posts, blog posts, and an eNewsletter.
• Industry Perspective Webinar Program, which allows industry to develop webinars that are hosted in HFSA’s Learning Center and marketed to its members/constituents.
• Professional educational programs including meetings (HFSA Annual Scientific Meeting, quarterly virtual meetings, the HFSA Board Certification Review, etc.) and certification programs (HF-CERT, OMT program).
• Membership campaigns to drive retention and growth.
  
  

Primary responsibilities:

• Provide administration and procedural management of funding proposals, including assistance in the submission process and appropriate reporting. The successful candidate will have demonstrated organizational skills and be able to track information related to grant/sponsorship submissions, reconciliations, and reporting required by funders with due dates.
• Execute marketing campaigns by crafting, editing, scheduling, and publishing content to channels including Constant Contact (email marketing), Hootsuite (social media scheduler), Twitter, Facebook, and others as necessary.
• Oversee content calendar and sponsorship deliverables calendar to assist Director in balancing workload, meeting deadlines, and achieving goals.
• Maintain accurate records to positively impact the stewardship relationship and encourage future funding opportunities and assist in maintenance and clean-up of contact lists to improve the results of promotional campaigns. Accurate data retention is key.
• Assist in gathering metrics on marketing and communications campaigns and developing reports to be shared with staff, program sponsors, or other stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development of program budgets, implementation plans, outcomes, and deliverables for funding proposals.
• Collaborate with members of HFSA staff, the HFSA Communications Committee, and others for editorial content review, etc.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Two (2) to five (5) years of related experience; Knowledge of medical industry a plus
• Project Management skills and/or ability to manage deadlines and calendars utilizing software a plus
• Ability to work remotely and experience with Zoom and Microsoft Teams is required
• Proficient computer skills, particularity with Microsoft Office products; ability to rapidly learn new software; knowledge of Impexium or similar association management membership database a plus
• Strong communication skills particularly writing and proof-reading skills
• Detailed-oriented and deadline-driven
• Knowledge of Google Analytics, Twitter Analytics, and other metrics tools
• Experience with marketing tools such as Constant Contact and Hootsuite a plus
