Director of the Metropolitan Tribunal

The Director of the Metropolitan Tribunal works closely with and under the direction of the Judicial Vicar. The Director coordinates and oversees the processing of all marriage cases submitted to the Metropolitan Tribunal, in both first and second instance, to ensure the effective and efficient administration of justice for the faithful of the Archdiocese of Atlanta. The Director is also responsible for (but not limited to) organizing and supervising the work of all tribunal judges, defenders of the bond, promoters of justice, auditors, and court experts in the first and second instance.

JCL Degree (JCD preferred) in Canon Law from a recognized Pontifical University Must be an expert in marriage law, dispensations, and at least a master of all other areas of Canon Law. Five (5) years of full-time experience in a Latin Church Tribunal as a Judge and/or a Defender of the Bond Three (3) years of supervisory experience Ability to personally identify with and be committed to the mission, beliefs, and values of the Catholic Church with the ability to articulate these to diverse audiences. |
