Regional Vice President

The American Trucking Associations (ATA) is searching for a motivated and fast-paced Regional Vice President. This position will work to recruit and retain ATA’s Trucking Carrier Members. This position supports the Membership Management Department’s objectives of increasing membership, meeting retention goals and providing prompt, accurate and useful information to members, affiliates and staff by representing and promoting ATA membership and its value to existing and prospective members.
This impactful position works with Membership Management staff, ATA Senior staff, State Trucking Associations and members to identify, evaluate and gain information regarding solid prospect leads, to determine best recruitment approach, and to develop and implement an effective recruitment membership strategy. This position will work to supports other revenue stream verticals within the ATA including ATA Allied sales and Transport Topics advertising sales when needed. Although retention is not the main responsibility of this position, the Regional Vice President will work hard to sustain the high member service excellence standards of the ATA, they will work closely with the Client Relationship Manager(s) to assure members’ needs are being met.
This position is the eyes and ears of the ATA out in the industry. An ideal candidate for this position will be skilled in consultative selling. Proven success in sales in the trucking industry is a huge plus. A successful Regional Vice President will be skilled in closing deals in virtual and in-person selling situations, they will be flexible and adapt to the market quickly. This role will cover the Midwest territory and will traditionally travel up to 75% of the year.

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
Education/ Relevant Experience –
BS/BA Degree in Business Administration, marketing, sales or related field; At least 5 years of successful outside sales experience required; Proven successful sales experience within the trucking industry preferred.
Skill Requirements –
Must be able to work with minimal supervision and perform multiple functions simultaneously; Must possess superior verbal and written communication skills and the ability to conduct business in a variety of business and social settings Must have the ability to work well with people and a diverse industry Must possess the ability to understand and effectively ascertain and communicate complex membership dues schedules, issues and “rules”. |
