Carbon Cap is a new high growth alternative asset management firm based in the West End of London. The Company has a unique climate change impact fund that targets strong absolute reuturns and a direct impact on climate change with monthly liquidity.
Following business expansion, the company is now recruiting a junior business development executive to work closely with the CEO to expand sales to wealth managers, family offices and other hedge fund allocators in Europe.
The company wishes to significantly increase its profile and awareness of the fund in key client groups and is seeking an experienced business development professional to lead this initiative.
Responsibilities will include prospect identification and prioritisation, active relationship building through meetings as well as telephone and e-mail correspondence. The candidate will be encouraged to creatively generate leads though referrals, conference attendance, and targeted approaches.
A priority will also be placed upon delivering a high level of support to clients and prospects. This will include the provision of marketing materials, client database management, and prompt follow up to meetings and conferences.
Target clients will likely be based in the UK and continental Europe with Switzerland seen as a particularly important market.
The successful candidate will be an experienced business development professional with a strong network of hedge fund allocators across the wealth management, private banking and family office segments.
It is likely that the candidate will have gained at least 3 years of experience in a role focussing largely on raising assets from these sectors. They will be able to point to a good track record of investment deals closed.
Strong investment knowledge and presentation skills are essential as is the ability to express investment concepts with clarity and conviction.
The individual will be a skilful relationship manager in these customer segments and will bring a good pool of relevant client relationships as well as a desire to expand this.
The candidate will be juggling multiple sales leads and prospects and will have a high level of organisational skills and be very focussed on closing deals. The ability to work in a small organisation, where both being a self-starter, and also a skilful team player are essential skills. Sound levels of computer literacy are also a pre-requisite.
Success will be dependent upon high quality relationships and networking skills as well as a high level of investment literacy and credibility. Success will be measured by new business volumes and client satisfaction.
