Serve the Membership and Councils departments as the liaison to the Marketing, Communications and Publishing teams. Responsible for coordinating, developing and writing content, as needed, for SEMA publications and marketing efforts related to the SEMA volunteer groups and Membership Department. Support the Council liaisons in their efforts to coordinate programs and events with SEMA’s volunteer communities.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
Be knowledgeable on all member benefits, programs and services offered by the association.
Oversee the creation and delivery of council and network meeting minutes according to the association’s defined process and standards.
Coordinate all content for the Councils and Membership departments, including:
Collaborate with stakeholders to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for assigning, writing, scheduling and submitting content for each communication channel.
Schedule content delivery according to the departments’ editorial calendar.
Coordinate the “Member Update” editorial calendar, content deployment and delivery timelines.
Ensure that all publication deadlines are met for eNews and Member News according to the departments’ editorial calendar.
Draft and edit content for consistency with SEMA’s style guide.
As necessary, serve as the liaison with SEMA vendors who assist with marketing, web and social media content development.
Serve as liaison for the Council Directors and membership staff to the marketing, communications and publishing teams to coordinate all related promotional efforts for their programs and events.
Aid in the development of marketing content for the department’s programs.
Coordinate social media priorities with the MERC PR Coordinator.
Ensure that all the department’s content is current on SEMA.org, microsites and other online properties.
Work with marketing to create event registrations, promote the function and analyze results of MERC events.
Assist with maintenance of Council and Membership data in SEMA’s membership database, NetFORUM, as needed.
Support the department’s and association outreach efforts at events/shows, as needed.
As requested, assist with SEMA front desk coverage and utilize as a remote workspace.
As requested, provide administrative support to the Council liaisons.
When directed by management, perform other assignments and duties as required.

PRIMARY SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
4-year college degree with a strong background in communications and marketing required.
Creative and business writing experience a plus.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in an ever-changing environment as well as to remain calm under pressure.
Ability to process all external and internal requests within a 24-hour time period during weekdays.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the capacity to connect across all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft Office software and strong aptitude to learn new software programs is required.
Experience with association management or CRM software is preferred.
Strong organizational abilities to maintain information organized and accessible, maintains an efficient workflow and manages time well and is able to meet deadlines and goals.
Good listener; committed to finding solution to problems and works well with all types of personalities.
Familiarity with Robert’s Rule of Order and ability to take proper minutes.
Travel requirements up to 5%.
