Join our HCA Healthcare team as AVP for PR & Communications at the South Atlantic Division based in Charleston, SC. In this role you will lead, execute and sustain a multi-year, multi-channel strategy to bring the HCA Healthcare story to life in the Division and our markets. The South Atlantic Division operates 12 hospitals and more than 100 outpatient care centers across SC, GA and Jacksonville, FL. Cultivate and identify strong brand stories from across our practices and hospitals. Celebrate the care delivered and advances made here in healthcare delivery by creating an earned media strategy to raise awareness of the great work being done. Lead a skilled team of hospital-based PR and communications professionals to cascade strategies, localize messaging and execute effectively on key education, reputation and awareness goals. Proactively identify and execute successful communications strategies for internal audience, external stakeholders and media. Serve as lead for crisis management when needed. Our ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant work experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Hospital experience and a master’s degree are strongly preferred.
The Division Associate Vice President of PR & Communications will oversee the development, implementation and execution of a Division-wide PR and Communications strategy that aligns to the HCA Enterprise PR and Communications strategy, as well as advance local and market PR and Communications objectives. They will be a crucial facilitator of collaboration internally customizing and cascading messaging for employees, leaders, physicians, media and key stakeholders. They will scale the HCA Healthcare story across the division’s markets emphasizing the value of HCA Healthcare to internal and external audiences. This position will be based in Charleston, SC, at our Division headquarters and require routine travel to each of the markets.

Position Requirements (minimum qualifications for this position):
Experience: A minimum of 7 years PR & Communications with at least 3+ years of in a leadership role. Hospital experience strongly desired.
Special qualifications: Effective management and communication skills; both orally and written. Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Hours of work: Business Hours, Monday through Friday. On call after hours/weekends.
