Job Summary: In collaboration with senior leadership, the Internal Communications Director develops and plans the organization's internal communications strategy, channels and tactics. Responsible for developing internal communications strategy and messaging and overseeing and executing plans that inform and engage employees related to the organization's strategic plan, organizational changes and direction, important events, and operational issues and updates. Works collaboratively with marketing and public community relations staff.
Assists VP, Marketing and Communications with development of the organization’s internal communications strategies,
Executes internal plan, message development and announcement strategies derived from CMH strategic and in partnership with external communications/public relations.
Serves as editor of the organization’s newsletter.
Drafts internal announcements and talking points when appropriate.
Assists with drafting and/or editing ad hoc system messages.
Provides communications counsel to leadership.
Identifies new internal communication channels and tactics or improves existing.
Works in conjunction with other departments in producing print, digital or presentation materials.
Oversees and manages internal communication events such as Town Halls and small group meetings with senior leadership and assisting with monthly Director’s meeting.
Assesses the effectiveness of communications efforts via surveys.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or related field.
A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in corporate/internal communications. Experience in healthcare preferred.
Excellent communication skills, particularly in writing.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Advanced computer knowledge.
Advanced knowledge of AP Style.
