Category Management is composed of Wayfair’s lead merchandising teams focused on generating high revenue growth. Dedicated teams run category-specific businesses, such as furniture, bedding, seasonal décor, lighting, tabletop, and are responsible for managing the overall health of the category, primarily by building and growing strong supplier relationships. The Global Merchandising department is responsible for owning and maintaining Wayfair’s e-commerce catalog comprised of over 10 million+ products. Operations General Management in Wayfair covers a broad-based continuum that includes: Supplier Operations, International Supply Chain, Fulfillment, Operational Excellence, Sales and Service, Global Delivery, Customer Experience Center of Excellence, and more. The Operations team develops and executes transformational strategies that generate game-changing competitive advantage and enduring customer satisfaction. Roles in Operations combine strategy with hands on execution and the ability to own and drive results. Operations Analytics serves as internal, cross-functional analytics consultants supporting the Operations group and senior leadership team on a wide array of strategic and operational decisions including network and transportation design, 3rd-party carrier strategy, warehouse footprint optimization, facility capacity forecasting, and inventory planning.
Profit Management balances the critical trade-off between short- and long-term profit and topline growth across Wayfair’s sites, geographies, and categories. In order to answer thorny strategy questions that guide go-to-market strategy, we leverage unique, proprietary, and massive datasets, along with highly quantitative business analytics and cutting-edge data science techniques, and a constant flow of experimentation on consumer response. 2) WayForward Field Operations Executive Leadership Program
The WayForward Program is a ~2-year executive leadership program designed to propel your career as a leader and innovator at Wayfair. Through hands-on experience in our fulfillment centers across the US and Canada, you will have the opportunity to make critical impacts on our rapidly growing business right from the start. We believe global operations is the heart of E-Commerce and our fulfillment center operations define our long term competitive advantage. The WayForward program is strategically important for our success, as we view participants as the pipeline for future executive leadership.
Months 1-6: After your cohort orientation at our Boston headquarters, WayForward participants will then travel to a fulfillment center where you will be immersed in our global processes and best practices. You’ll spend the first 6 months as a Warehouse Supervisor, where you will gain invaluable insights into how our fulfillment centers operate. You’ll also oversee the productivity and quality of fulfillment center operations.
Months 6-24: Participants will then progress into critical strategy focused roles as Operations Managers and Senior Operations Managers, where you will drive continuous improvement and lead large teams.
