The functions of the job are to answer all questions from customers about VHG brand petrochemical and aqueous inorganic reference materials and to promote the products and their applications. The specialist will also create price lists, bid documents and technical contents to promote the products.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Respond to technical inquiries, resolve customer complaints and oversee recalls
Establish all price levels for stock and custom products
Design product packaging and product documentation (Certificates Of Analysis)
Maintain contact management database
Fill out Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to add new products, make product changes, and discontinue products.
Work with Parts Set-up group to maintain proper product information in LGC software.
Make technical presentations internally and externally to promote VHG brand products
Provide technical training for sales and customer service teams
Support sales activities during customer visits, trade shows and conferences
Funnel suggestions from customers to pertinent team members about new products, product modifications, quality improvements and emerging needs.
Provide technical assistance for marketing activities, including catalog, website, data sheets, press releases and direct-marketing campaigns
Complete special projects for Marketing & Sales department
Perform Product Manager duties (backup) as necessary

Education, Experience and Technical Skills
S. in chemistry, physics, biochemistry, biology, or equivalent
1-3 years’ experience in chemistry or life sciences in one
of the following functions: laboratory research, technical service, sales or product management
Able to read and interpret documents such as RFQs, contracts, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute, rate, ratio and percent
Proficient in Microsoft Office software
Experience in commercial testing laboratory preferred
Hands-on experience with ICP and/or ICP-MS preferred
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Able to solve practical problems, using a variety of instructions or guides furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Excellent attention to detail
