With strategic direction from the VP of Marketing, Marketing Director, and Show Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies designed to enable sales, drive audience acquisition and demonstrate ROI for assets within Emerald Exposition’s Design Group portfolio with primary focus on the Retail sector. As a Marketing Manager, you will be directly responsible for supporting sales objectives, leveraging marketing resources, collaborating with key industry partners and working with other internal departments to accomplish the shared pre-determined goal for exhibit booth sales.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced event marketer with a solid understanding of trade event planning, execution and measurement best practices. You will assist in developing marketing strategy for each event aligned with Emerald’s business objectives to ensure event success and excellence in marketing execution. You will also develop, produce, and evaluate a variety of marketing materials, while ensuring consistency among messages, and effectiveness of content.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Copywriting for integrated exhibitor-focused marketing promotions, including e-mail and direct mail; distribution of marketing materials, including traditional and digital brochures, flyers and direct mail; copywriting for email blasts, direct mail, telemarketing and automated voice mail scripts, and websites; development of promotional videos, brand engagement campaigns, all with an ultimate goal of driving exhibitor involvement across all events
Act as primary liaison between marketing and sales, ensuring shared goals are met and branding/messaging is consistent
Work directly with events’ sales team to ensure marketing messages complement end goal/needs by sales team; weekly meetings and frequent check-ins to ensure all teams are on the same page
Lead social media initiatives including planning and execution of all social activities, and overarching content strategy with Marketing Specialist. Drive momentum, engagement, reach and attendance for measurable results with our target audiences across digital and influencer channels; develop reports showing ROI on daily activities using social media reporting tools.
Manage all aspects of marketing-related sponsorship fulfillment, including but not limited to: working with exhibitors to secure needed deliverables and review contractual obligations; primary liaison between marketing and internal operations team; tracking all deliverables to ensure they are completed in a timely manner
Manage tracking databases and assist with analysis of performance of marketing tactics and campaigns to determine effectiveness.
Act as primary liaison for Registration Operations on registration set-up and timelines for each show to capture attendee and exhibitor registration data.
Analyze event, industry and competitive data. Utilize meaningful and relevant data to improve effectiveness and efficiency of events.
Maintain event websites through edits, updates and SEO (done in conjunction with Digital Services team), working closely with marketing team members to ensure updates are completed
Identification and management of key media partnerships.
Attend all shows and provide on-site support as assigned.
As a qualified candidate, you will have:
BA/BS required; degree or major in Marketing, Communications or related strongly preferred.
6-8 years of integrated marketing experience required, including a familiarity with traditional and digital channels.
Experience working the full cycle of planning, promoting and executing large conferences and trade shows a plus.
Social Media and/or Public Relations experience a plus.
Solid strategic project management experience and organizational skills, including budgets, teams and complex, simultaneous schedules, and attention to detail.
Proficiency in copywriting for marketing promotions, including e-mail and direct mail; writing samples will be requested.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple workloads and meeting deadlines.
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including executive management to achieve business goals Strong analytical skills and marketing performance knowledge.
Proficiency in MS Office, CMS, Salesforce, Pardot and email distribution programs
Expertise in finding and managing media partnerships.
Able to travel, approximately 20% of the time.
