The Lexington Philharmonic is seeking a key team member to oversee our Annual Fund and Special Event initiatives. The successful candidate is inspired by the important role live orchestral music plays in the vitality of a community and will be responsible for collaboratively working with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, Communications Manager, Patron Loyalty Associate Manager and others to actualize a resource development and stewardship program for the Lexington Philharmonic. The Annual Fund Associate Manager will coordinate with all areas of LexPhil to ensure that campaign goals, plans and donor benefits are integrated with marketing and programming plans to accomplish the strategic goals of the organization.
The Lexington Philharmonic is comprised of two entities. The Lexington Philharmonic Society (Society) is its general operating entity and the Lexington Philharmonic Foundation (Foundation) maintains its endowment. The Society also has a volunteer-based Guild, which executes select fundraising special events. The Annual Fund Associate Manager is employed by the Society, and provides support to both the Society and Foundation as directed.
Plan, lead, and implement all phases of the Annual Campaign; oversee the solicitation and acknowledgment process, maintenance of records, establishment and disclosure of donor benefits, and reporting.
Actuate strategies for the Annual Campaign and all other resource development and relationship building activities in support of LexPhil’s mission.
The areas of the Annual Campaign specific to this position include, but are not limited to:
1) Individual giving 2) Special events (fundraising and relationship-building) 3) In-kind support from various industries
Benefit fulfillment for corporate and institutional donors.
Provide tools and support to inspire the engagement of the Board, and others to actively participate in fundraising for the Lexington Philharmonic.
Ensure a year-round cultivation program to develop new relationships and support opportunities.
Collaborate closely with the Patron Loyalty Associate Manager and the Communications Manager to efficiently and effectively coordinate materials and timelines for all donor communications and campaigns and successful fulfillment of donor engagement and retention initiatives.
Coordinate and execute all communications with donors and potential donors including mailings, invitations, emails, etc.
Oversee the development and production of all materials used to support LexPhil’s development efforts, campaigns and special events, in coordination with the Communications Manager and LexPhil’s overall brand.
Responsible for meeting the revenue goals for Individual Contributions and Special Events.
Maintain and work within budgets for each event and campaign and track progress of all campaigns in relation to goals.
Coordinate special events to ensure optimum impact across the organization.
Track appropriate data in a timely manner to assist in evaluating ROI of each campaign and special event.
Maintain all donor files and records; administer donor benefits in accordance LexPhil donor benefits program and IRS regulations.
Assist in training and managing interns and volunteers.
Actively cultivate and maintain internal and external contacts to optimize fund-raising efforts; represent LexPhil at other civic and cultural events in the community; represent LexPhil by speaking at public events as requested.
Assist with front-of-house patron support as needed at concerts and events.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
At least 3 years’ experience in non-profit Annual Fund campaigns with a focus on individual fundraising;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate organizations’ artistic vision and goals to relevant appeals;
Successful fundraising track record including guiding and motivating stakeholders to engage in fundraising for LexPhil;
Proficiency in the use of computers and office software programs for all types of communication as well as data base management (Patron Manager or Salesforce preferred);
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to execute plans effectively in a fast-paced environment;
Strong understanding of current best practices in fundraising and philanthropy;
Track record of ethical team leadership and donor-centric practices;
Deep appreciation of the role and value of the arts in a vibrant community;
Bachelor’s degree in philanthropy, marketing, communications, public relations, arts administration, or a related field and/or relevant experience/track record in fundraising;
Knowledge of orchestral and classical music helpful;
Experience with graphic design and Adobe Suite helpful;
Ability to be on ones feet for extended periods of time and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds;
Reliable transportation and good driving record;
Some evenings and weekends required.
Additional Salary Information: This is a full time employment position. The marginal functions of this position have not been included.
