The Senior Litigation Business Development Manager will work in conjunction with the Department’s Director and Litigation Partners to develop, implement and manage the Firm’s litigation business development initiatives.
Proactively initiates business development projects and develops ideas for new business efforts, focusing on various industries, clients and practice areas;
Manages the Litigation Business Development team who have primary responsibility for assembling litigation pitches, updating materials and handling special research projects;
Oversees the gathering, assembling and updating of pitch and presentation materials, including Firm overview, practice descriptions, transaction lists, Partner bios, etc.;
Reviews and evaluates pitch, website and presentation materials and offers improvements on the current system;
Collaborates with the Public Relations Manager and team on major cases for publicity purposes;
Ensures the maintenance of business development databases to ensure that case descriptions are up-to-date, accurate and have been approved for business development materials such as pitches, presentations, press releases, media kits and other collateral materials;
Collaborates with other departments to ensure that the databases are consistent with Firm standards;
Summarizes news and other significant developments and helps identify potential new business opportunities;
Helps to coordinate the preparation of biweekly reports for the Partnership regarding new business pitches, speaking engagements and high-level press coverage relating to the litigation department;
Gathers information for clients and prospects using both internal and external data sources;
Assigns research projects and ensures quality of projects assigned to the business development analysts and coordinators;
Initiates efforts to identify and evaluate new research sources and in developing “best practices” in research; and
Performs other duties, as assigned.
Must have experience as a Litigation Associate, preferably in Securities, Antitrust and/or Intellectual Property;
Prior exposure to business development initiatives preferred;
Excellent oral and written communication skills and a highly detail-oriented work manner;
Ability to present ideas clearly, both orally and in writing;
Ability to build professional working relationships with Partners and co-workers:
Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet time-sensitive, often unpredictable deadlines; and
Availability to work additional hours as needed.
