The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) is the premier Internet standards body and is a community-led organization that develops open standards through open processes. The IETF is vital to how the Internet works today and plays a critical role in the global infrastructure of the Internet. The IETF Administration LLC (IETF LLC) provides the corporate legal home for the IETF and its sibling organizations: the Internet Architecture Board (IAB) and the Internet Research Task Force (IRTF). The IETF LLC was established as a legal entity in 2018.
The IETF LLC Board is seeking an Executive Director to lead the IETF LLC. This is a new role, reporting to the Board, and working closely with our large open international community of network designers, operators, vendors, and researchers. The Executive Director will be responsible for ensuring the organization runs efficiently and effectively by meeting the short-term and long-term operational, administrative, and financial needs of the IETF. This includes oversight of the IETF’s operations, finances, fundraising, communications, personnel management, meetings, and community relations.
We are seeking a skilled administrator and financial professional who is simultaneously a self-starter and an exceptional listener capable of engaging with a broad set of stakeholders. The successful candidate will bring proven professional experience in operations, contract management, finance, and/or executive leadership and will be aligned with the mission of IETF.
