The VP of Business Development is a senior business development/sales executive who is experienced in home care, hospice and/or private duty care. The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for the planning and implementation of external relations throughout the East Coast of the United States; will ensure profitable growth in sales, revenue through planning, execution and collaboration on marketing and product development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing and overseeing the following duties:
Develops and implements, in collaboration with the Board of Directors, President & CEO, and Senior Leadership Team strategic marketing and sales plans to achieve corporate objectives for products and services
Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners; meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals
Develops and manages sales/marketing operating budgets and guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management
Develops and recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share; achieving satisfactory profit/loss ratio in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends
Oversees market research, monitors competitor products, and marketing activities and adjusts strategy to market conditions
Establishes and directs sales forecasting activities, performance goals, staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programs
Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals
Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product
Develops and implements, in collaboration with the Director of Education and project lead, new enhanced educational products
Oversees expansion of national products and services
Demonstrate business acumen by exercising sound judgment and keen decision making in alignment with CHAP business interests
Exceptional communication ability and capacity to clearly, confidently and concisely connect with clients and stakeholders
Ability to maintain Customer/Client Focus, while simultaneously maintaining strong inter-personal, cross-departmental relationships within CHAP

Technical Expertise and broad understanding of accreditation products and services
This position manages at least one Business Development Associate
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required to lift office products and supplies up to 20 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position based in CHAP’s Washington, DC headquarters office. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.; with a part-time telework option upon completion of 90-day introductory period.
Out-of-the-area and overnight travel will be expected
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing or business administration or equivalent number of years of experience
Five (5) years of related experience with progressive management experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience in the home health and community-based health care market
Experience in health care accreditation preferred
Pharmaceutical or Medical Equipment sales experience a plus
Master’s degree in sales, marketing or business administration a plus
