Summary/Objective The Senior Estimator/Engineer serves as the individual charged with accurate pricing of materials and signs. This position functions in concert with sales & marketing and production managers to provide accurate estimates per job specifications and finalize job specifications prior to production. This position prices all aspects of a project as requested by our customers/clients and in accordance with company processes.

Interpret customer requirements to create estimates, with a greater focus on comprehensive bid packages.
Coordinate and oversee estimating best practices companywide to speed up the process an ensure accuracy to meet gross margin objectives.
Provide Standard Estimates for Sales Department.
Input bill of materials (BOM) for standard products.
Provide detailed estimates to sales including bill of materials (BOM) and preliminary drawings as required.
Query and resolve all questions and issues between internal suppliers and external customers.
Create accurate job orders based on estimates.
Conduct meetings/conference calls to clarify specifications and pricing issues. Take action on all action items from meetings/calls to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
Maintain records of estimates and changes to orders. Maintain and update pricing data schedules and databases as needed.
Standardize CAD processes throughout the company (all locations).
Assist CAM operators on process improvement to best utilize the machines.
Assist production with drawings as needed.
Coordinate with production on product standards between all locations.
Train and mentor junior estimators/customer sales representatives.
Be available as a consultant for sales staff.
Strive for continuous improvement.
Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment as well as on the production floor. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with occasional weekend work based on the needs of the business operations.
Travel A minimal amount of travel may be required from time to time.
Required Education and Experience
At least two years of experience in estimating.
In-depth knowledge of sign manufacturing processes or related industry.
Advanced experience with Microsoft excel.
