Validic, one of the fastest growing companies in healthcare technology today, is actively recruiting for a Sales Engineer. The Sales Engineer (SE) is a dynamic role which will work closely with Sales, Implementation, Product, and Marketing, to be the technical bridge between our Sales Executives and their pre-sales customers.
A successful candidate will have an inherent ability to take initiative and utilize cross-functional teams to bring a creative and solution-oriented focus to our potential customers’ goals. The SE will take ownership of the technical relationship with our pre-sales customers and resell partners to drive satisfaction by proactively managing and delivering technical information on-site, online, and via phone. The ideal candidate will be comfortable creating workaround tools, and collaborate closely with the Product Managers and Engineers to ensure concurrence from the start of the Sale cycle, to Implementation, Support, and Product features. Measures of success include new customer acquisition rates, reduced churn, customer satisfaction during implementation, and contribution to the overall sales team and business success.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Support sales executives, business development, and marketing personnel with articulating the value proposition of the Validic solution(s) and act as the primary lead for technical sales conversations, demos, reports, proposals, etc.
Assist business development and outside sales teams with on-site presentations (development, execution, and follow up) and demonstrations
Respond to functional and technical elements of proposals, RFIs, RFPs, and pre-sale Security Questionnaires
Identify technical hurdles early in the opportunity and work to overcome any challenges using available resources
Work with internal groups (marketing, implementation, engineering, product) on presentation content
Effectively communicate relevant customer needs and priorities to product and engineering teams for future product enhancements
Partner with sales executives to plan, prepare, and execute on strategic deals in complex sales cycles
Model the financial business case associated with each sales opportunity
Successfully match customer pain/requirements to proposed solutions
Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition
Collect and document competitive intelligence
Provide internal training and demos on our products and related technologies
Stay up to date on technical skills, product releases, and product features
Takes initiative and communicates effectively across multiple departments
Can creatively explain and present complex concepts to non-technical audiences
Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development, web technologies, and SaaS delivery models
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent presentation and creativity skills
Proven work experience as a Sales Engineer selling technology solutions to healthcare executives in a consultative manner: Provider, Payer, and Pharma Markets, a plus
Proven track record of supporting complex enterprise solutions
Ability to forge strong, long-lasting relationships with senior executives
Willingness to travel
BA/BS degree or equivalent, preferably with a numeracy base
Experience with Salesforce.com is a plus
