UVA Health System Strategic Relations and Marketing is seeking a Marketing/PR Specialist. This role will work with clinical service line leadership to establish marketing priorities and develop strategic marketing plans that include a wide variety of tactics, such as digital outreach, earned media and referring provider communications.
The Marketing/PR Specialist is part of a team working in a professional, high-performance environment. This position is part of the Strategic Relations and Marketing department and is responsible for a wide variety of functions that support and build effectiveness in strategic marketing and public relations communications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with Manager, Market Strategy and Planning, service line leadership and department team members to implement marketing communication tactics that meet departmental business goals and are consistent with the established strategic marketing direction and goals outlined by executive leadership and marketing.
Work with team to execute public relations, supporting public events, media relations, filming and related efforts occurring outside the office. This may require occasional local travel and schedule flexibility.
Write press releases, pitch stories and coordinate media visits.
Work with department staff to compile and report return on investment (ROI) data and methodologies.
Serve as on-call public information officer periodically as part of a team rotation.
Other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field required.
Experience: 2 years of marketing, PR or ad agency experience required.
License/Certification: None required.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
