FFB is the largest nongovernmental supporter of retinal degeneration research in the world, dedicated to finding preventions, treatments, and cures for people affected by retinal diseases. We are actively recruiting an Accounts Payable Processor to be a part of our Finance team. This position is located in our Columbia, MD office.
Specifically this position will:
Record payables, process payments and serve as Accounts Payable point of contact for internal and external customers
Resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation; performing general ledger research, issuing stop payments, and making adjustment entries as required
Maintain financial integrity by following internal accounting controls and established policies and procedures
Perform gift processing revenue entry into constituent database
Prepare routine journal entries
Assist with sales tax filings, including sales tax payable and sales tax refunds
Assist with preparation of monthly financial schedules and reports
Assist with audit preparation
Ability to work overtime as needed, including July yearend
Other projects as assigned

Minimum Associates Degree preferred required
3+ years Accounts Payable experience
Must be fully proficient and have working experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and accounting software
Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
Good math and critical thinking skills
Must be able to perform work accurately and efficiently
Ability to work independently as well as a team player
Must be organized, dependable and able to meet deadlines by effectively prioritizing workload
Attention to detail and quality data entry required
Ability to complete projects during peak periods which will require overtime
