The Business Development Manager of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas is a servant-hearted, people-focused and solutions-oriented individual who strives for personal and organizational excellence.
He/she is organized, focused on customer service, and seeks to understand the needs of IBAT’s associate members, endorsed service providers and other association supporters, to develop, sell and deliver innovative sponsorship programs.
Builds relationships with IBAT associate members and potential supporters.
Seeks to understand IBAT bank-member needs to connect vendors and bankers.
Responsible for driving the association to achieve and surpass sales goals.
Develops, sells and delivers innovative sponsorship programs that enrich IBAT’s relationship with its sponsors, endorsed service providers and associate members.
Oversees event sponsorships and annual engagement package sales to include: emailing/mailing invoices, database entries, letters, collecting funds and artwork, sending marketing kits/promotions, direct/online marketing campaigns.
Collaborates with IBAT Staff to develop budget goals and projections for revenue. Responsible for meeting annual revenue budget goals.
Provides timely reporting to IBAT management on event sponsorship performance and feedback.
Manages and coordinates fulfillment of sponsorship deliverables during the pre-event planning phase and on-site for all events, programs and initiatives.
Evaluate sponsorships annually to determine impact and sustainability. Review sponsor satisfaction, pricing, value proposition, cost effectiveness and member benefits.
Assists in floor plan designs of the association’s events by collecting the information about sponsor needs and deliverables.
Coordinates dissemination of attendee pre-show and post-show lists to sponsors/partners. Fulfills sponsors’ requests for pre-show and post-show attendee lists.
Remains fully knowledgeable of all educational programs and membership benefits to assist with general inquiries.
Education: Should have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or a minimum of five (5) years association management experience.
Skill requirements: Effective oral and written communication skills, including public speaking; experience with computers and word processing software; ability to work effectively with members and staff; ability to maintain confidentiality and have a service-oriented attitude. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously; use critical thinking and implement problem-solving skills to effectively develop and organize projects. Must have an understanding of market research, statistics, and knowledge of the industry.
Relevant Experience: iMIS experience is preferred. Previous customer or member service experience preferred. Industry designation preferred but not required (CAE, CEM, CMP).
Travel: At short notice, successful candidate will also be available for evening and weekend work and may travel up to 20% of the time.
