Believe it or not, California has the highest rate of child poverty in the country, 20.6 percent, almost two million children according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
Sponsored by the Daughters of Charity, GRACE was established in 2013 and is dedicated to reducing child poverty in California. The VP, Policy and Advocacy reports to the CEO and will be instrumental in the implementation of a comprehensive plan and strategy to reduce overall child poverty in conjunction with the Lifting Children and Families Out of Poverty Task Force, End Child Poverty in California campaign, the Governor’s administration, state legislature and a state-wide network of partners and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have at least eight years of senior executive experience and be a strategic project leader and results-oriented executive known for achieving measurable results in advocating for policy and achieving legislative accomplishments. Candidates’ background should include pro-active community and political organizing around social justice change initiatives with emphasis on issues of poverty and inequality. Candidates must possess solid program management skills, strong collaboration and consensus building expertise, drive, determination and passion for ensuring mission success. Graduation from a university or college is required and an advanced degree is desirable.
