The Vice President, API Solutions plans and directs all aspects of APEX’s SmartVM API business development policies, objectives, and initiatives. Responsible for developing new market initiatives, assessing new markets, and analyzing business opportunities. Conducts financial feasibility studies and develops proposals for new business opportunities, including driving new sales opportunities that are to be closed by our sales team or directly. Accountable for alliances and partnerships, analyst relationships (with Gartner for example), and must be comfortable speaking to trade organizations and at conferences. Will also be accountable for licensing initiatives and programs; duties include negotiating contracts, initiating proposals, and closing deals with partners, resellers, and API marketplaces. Will manage this Smart VM business unit and have major overall company organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for current and future direction of our SmartVM business. Participate in the product management and product marketing roles at the company, innovating new features and functions to continue to make the offering more and more valuable and more and more compelling to the market.The required location for this role is working onsite in our Greensboro, NC office so anyone outside of the Greensboro area must be willing to relocate.
• Solid understanding of API capabilities and the software development lifecycle • Understanding of the Data Brokerage Industry (D&B, Lexus/Nexus, etc.) • Solid understanding of the business value of supplier information and in-depth understanding of company services and its position in the industry • Leadership qualities that reflect a self-motivated individual with the ability to work as part of a team. • Possesses an energetic, outgoing, and friendly demeanor • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to connect and interact with potential customers, building long-term relationships • Eager to expand company with new sales, clients, territories, alliances and partners • Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge • Persuasive and goal-oriented • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and CRM/Salesforce experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in business or a related field • 5+ years of experience in API marketplaces and tools, P2P enterprise software, or data brokerage businesses. • 5+ years of experience in Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Product Marketing, Product Management, Analyst Relations or Pre-Sales SME. • Experience with lead generation and prospect management • Demonstrated and proven sales, business development, analyst relations, and product management and product marketing results
