Founded in 2015 by rising Pops star Luke Frazier, the American Pops Orchestra presents innovative orchestral programming featuring groundbreaking concepts and artistic partnerships to develop and inspire a new audience for the 21st century.
The American Pops Orchestra, now in their fourth year of orchestral pops programming, is seeking an Administrative Intern to work closely with the Associate Producer, Artistic Associate and Music Director in support of the orchestra’s needs. This internship begins September 4 and concludes on or about December 21, 2018. Candidates must spend time in our Washington, DC offices. Weekend and evening hours are required at times.
Assist with general office management duties and research as needed
Assist with fundraising including letter drafting, donor follow-ups, and donor research
Assist with production needs on show days
Assist with maintaining orchestra schedule
Assist with booking artist travel, hotel and hospitality
Assist with paid and free marketing strategies in both print and digital
The ideal intern has good computer and research skills and is organized, personable, self-motivated, and able to multi-task. This position requires effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing and must be a self-starter. This position requires discretion and professionalism in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Skills in web and social media are a plus. A strong interest in entering a position in the non-profit sector – the arts, theater, museums – is vital.
About American Pops Orchestra
The American Pops Orchestra is a new start up non-profit organization, entering it's third season in Washington, DC. For our third season, we will be housed in a new venue. We are looking for an intern to join our small staff of three. We are a close knit group and are looking to find someone that has the skills we are looking for, but will also fit into our organizational culture. Our offices are held in an off site location, from where our performances are held.
