Quark Expeditions is looking for a tenured, dynamic, travel industry professional, with experience working with wholesalers, tour operators, and retailers to lead profitable sales growth through the travel channels. This can be a remote position based in Australia. The position is responsible for managing and exponentially growing the sales through travel channels within the Asia Pacific, including Australia and Japan (excludes China). The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a strong ability to build relationship and understand opportunities for future revenue growth in the indirect channels. The role reports to the Global Partnership Director.
Essential Functions •Lead the development of tactical and long-term strategic objectives specifically designed to maintain relationships and grow sales in wholesale and retail travel channels, in alignment with Quark's long-term strategic plan. •Identify emerging strategic retail travel partners, maximizing the value and growth potential through effective account management including strong relationship building skills. •Establish and implement new business development and group and charter acquisition strategies in retail travel markets and channels. •Coordinate the development of cooperative marketing efforts with key accounts with the goal of increasing indirect sales. •Oversee the creation and deployment of partner training curriculum in alignment with brand guidelines. •Based on established strategies, and sourcing/research, conduct cold calls on travel agencies looking for opportunities to develop sales from existing and new customers. •Participate in all aspects of drafting contracts and agreements, including business case formulation, financial analysis, and negotiations, as it relates to the retail travel channel. •Build relationships and collaborate with various internal departments (Quark Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, etc.) to ensure expectations are aligned and customer needs are met. •Create and deliver engaging, compelling and educational presentations to use onsite, at trade shows or via agent-focused webinars, maximizing Quark's product exposure. •Develop a strong understanding of competitor activity and the potential current and future implications on Quark's business. •Use Softrip and Salesforce to analyze and monitor key accounts, establish benchmarks, track sales trends and ROI, und uncover untapped recourses to crate strategies specific to prospect productivity and potential.
•5+ years experience in increasingly senior roles in sales and account management. •3+ years experience working with travel consortiums such as Virtuoso and Signature. •Finely-tuned business, strategic and commercial acumen including proven experience in business plan and contract development. •Ability to effectively present and pitch ideas in a business setting, engage stakeholders, build consensus and compellingly communicate Quark’s value proposition. •Strong negotiation skills in multi-cultural settings. •Ability to author complex contracts and sales agreements. •Demonstrated ability to understand the needs of passengers and enhance the customer experience. •Demonstrated ability to work independently, set and achieve goals, prioritize day-to-day activities and travel while adjusting priorities without losing effectiveness. •Computer skills including Microsoft Office and PowerPoint. Salesforce experience is a plus. •Additional language skills such as Japanese, spoken and/or written, is an asset but not required.
